My dog is from the pound. He was abused. He used to be terified of water and the car. With some TLC and paitence, he is the sweetest thing EVER! He is still afraid of cars but not as much. When we were taking him home, he pooped in the car. He was shaking. When we tried to take him for walks, he would run away from any cars. Now he is fine, almost too fine. Also, we can walk him without a leash. He is pretty obideiant. About the water, he used to bite us when we tried to give him baths. Now, we remotely likes it. He relaxes beacuse I massage the conditioner and shampoo into his hair... although he still doesn't like the pool. That brings me to the fact that he doen't like the lake, with alligators, either but he will swim out to get on the boat will me.
Now, he is ust the sweetest thing ever. He is my miracle puppy that is now 7. We've had him for 6 years.

That's a really good thing he doesn't like the water then if it keeps him away.We had a beautiful red doberman mix that we didn't think would come to us cause we were on the other side of a small lake running a Trout line and she was far away.Well we called her & she was deturmaned to come tous no matter what. She did make it but it was real scary cause for a while she was acting real screwy swimming in circles & barking.I think she was confused or something. I'll never do that again. Does your dog like car rides now or just tollerates them? I wonder if you bring him to BurgerKing or somefast food drive threw I order a kiddy burger & vannilla shake. My dog adores soft icecreams. She also likes going to the bank cause if she's sitting up front the teller sees her & sends a few dog milk bones in a bank envelope. But when they don't send her any down the tube she just sniffs & looks as if to say "Hey I bank here too. "

LOL. My dog still doesn't like the car but if we take him in he tolerates it but he always sits on the drivers lap... It's funny because when he knowns we are going in the car, he runs upstairs! I laugh!
