Well the vet said that this could happen, but I was in doubt. Yesterday I went and took Beacon to the mealie tray. Just the day before he started grasping. He either could hear those mealies or smell them.
So imagine my surprise when he could see them. Close enough to his face he grabbed it, and ate it.
Now the vet told me that with the proper diet, low in fat, that with him feeling better that this COULD happen, but they weren't sure because of where he came from. He came to us and was fine for a few days, then he got an infection, that lead to dehydration. Dehydration lead to a seizure all caused from the drug home that he was taken from.
So when he first got sick I begged friends and boards to put prayers and positive energy out all over. It must have worked because not only is he here, but he maybe able to get his vision back.

I sincerely hope so to. Poor little guy has been through enough. I want for him to be happy and around for a very long time. ;D
For some reason I am always drawn to the pets that are in need, always have. However the girls all know this and you never know what kind of animal they are going to bring in next. Then they look at me and say fix it. I have medicines here that I keep in stock just for that reason.
I have helped gliders of course, dogs, cats, wild bunnies (until they hopped all over the house, and that was fun), birds, gophers. Stray cats with eye infections seem to be the norm around here however. Then the kids all melt and I take the animal into my bathroom, where everything is sterile, and do what I can. People tell me everytime I should have been a vet. I tell them to take a look at that math. I tried. Now if I would have done this after high school, I could have done it. So my calling in life now is to help animals when I can.

My wild bunny was with us for 6 months after almost being ran over a lawn mower in the rain. After those 6 months, we realesed him into the backyard where we now occasionally see him.
